Visualiseringscenter C

The new NCN pilot project in Norrköping will evaluate the actual meaning and function of the  knowledge city for the last ten years, by interviews with the users of the knowledge city`s resources. Institutions, businesses and organizations will be asked what kind of urban resources do they value, in practical terms? Which special qualities holds Norrköping as a knowledge city, and what's missing?

The pilot project also focuses on the political leadership behind the knowledge city development. How do we ensure a cohesion between different communities, in the development of the mordern society? How to secure political and popular legitimacy, when a community invests in the modern development of the knowledge city?

It is all about the innovative city, who is functioning as the framework for the our age of innovative and creative businesses, educational institutions etc. "New Way of Working" is a term for this development. It should be accompanied by "New Way of Office Building" and "New Way of City Building".  The project is thereby a continuation of developing new and innovative building and city structures in Norrköping. Central to this work is the creation of the fourth urban space, in combination with a overall network of institutions, businesses and organizations that use the knowledge city as the resource base of their professional activity.

The pilot project will contribute to a broader awareness among all parties in Norrköping, about the actual transformation that has occurred in the developement of the modern knowledge city. These changes creates the foundation for the future development, and the vision for Norrköping Knowledge City 2020. Norrköping has earlier been nicknamed Sweden's Manchester. Today, its once again in the forefront in the development of a modern society and city.
