Recent event
Nordic City Network is strengthening the political leadership in our cities by establishing a political forum of local politicians. The first meeting will take place in Malmö on September 9th 2011 with participants from both administrative and political level in our cities.
The theme of the meeting was political leadership and urban development. Politicians from 
Århus, Aalborg, Odense, Frederica, Uppsala, Norrköping and Malmö all gathered in the town hall of Malmö, together with administrative staff. The meeting was an important starting point where the politicians had the opportunity to meet and exchange view points about political leadership in urban development. In open and free discussion different perspectives were presented. Due to the recent election in Norway, Norwegian politicians where not present, therefore it was decided to meet again in end November/ beginning December to have further discussions about a possible future political forum. What should it be? Concretely, what role should it play?
On the meeting a strong initiative to strengthen the relationship and cooperation between politicians and administrative personnel was taken.
