White Paper from Political leadership and urban development
Nordic City Network is moving on towards the next step and wishes to put urban development onto the political agenda. A set of questions were raced and discussed at the seminar in Norrköping, Political leadership and urban development, in April 2011.
The Cultural City
In November 2010, Aarhus welcomed both urban planners and contributors from the cultural sector to the Nordic City Network seminar Den kulturelle by (The Cultural City). The theme reflects the understanding of the modern knowledge city as a complex, where it`s not only about knowledge, but about creating an attractive, innovative, and cultural city.
Political leadership and urban development
How is urban development perceived by our politicians? Nordic City Network has interviewed 3 strong Nordic political leaders, Eva Andersson from Norrköping, Uffe Steiner Jensen from Fredericia and Jens Kramer Mikkelsen from Copenhagen. The 4th Urban Space
Since the 1990, Malmø has undergone a significant transformation from an industrial city to the knowledge city of today. The report describes the ideas and methods for a value-based urban development and identifies the 4th urban scape as a central element of the knowledge city.
The University and the City
Read the new, updated version of the Hvidbog (white paper) from the NCN seminar in June 2009 where member cities share their experiences about The University and the city. The seminar marked an important first step of Nordic City Network to engage more closely with relevant partners. Each member city had the opportunity to invite guests from the local university, and it proved to be a success as most cities were represented with people from the universities – administrative staff, professors and students
Business development and urban quality
This white paper summarizes the seminar in Bergen in April 2010, where member cities discussed Business development and urban quality. The theme focused on new urban qualities as a prerequisite for the innovative city, and the new approaches needed for integrating business development and urban development.
